the
TRAX party at la cité des sciences this saturday will be remembered as the most talked about (and criticized) party ever, i guess. it's kinda fun to go to the different message boards, the trax blog, or even this one here to read the different opinions, at least when you're desperately trying to avoid the preparation of an economics presentation on change rates. i justed barfed a bit in my mouth. as for my personnal conclusion on the party (cause i know you can't wait) : the sound was terrible, luckily i did not suffer from the queue hell and lack of alcohol (v. proud of myself there), and until Superdiscount and their musical ingeneering knowledge saving the night, i was a bit angered. Superdiscount then, was absolutely MAGICK, you can't test old school, and you certainly can't front on Superdiscount 2, i always said so, now with even more pride than ever. Modeselektor put out a banging heartbeat going faster live show complete with champagne as well, and Luciano was very efficient. so-so then, i guess i would have liked being at the modular "party of the year" in london better OHWELL.
those guys they don't come from london but from leeds or at least thats what i hear. the confusion seems natural though, since they dress in (a bit too sickening perhaps) fluoro like everyone else here and there, and talk about making records for ten years old fans. i wasn'tthat impressed by the Plan B remix that casper posted back in september (i think), but i rediscovered their own material this week and i must say : NOW I'M VERY IMPRESSED. the lyrics are amazing (i can't stress the genius involved enough), the beats pretty good, this is grime mixed with britpop mixed with nu rave (since we have to call it like that) and it reminds me of NU METAL TOO. wtf yeah i know. i beg you to download though, the energy is viral. "so i ask her what music she likes well a bit of everything really i ask her be more specific but she cant answer my query okay thats enough" haha, genius i tell you, i do wish they dressed a bit better, though, but they're youngster, here's
Hadouken!Hadouken! - Tuning InHadouken! - The BounceAcid Jacks is yet another combo from my favorite land right now. i admit i never heard about them before Pacey from
Les Petits Pilous (you'll soon read more about them, but for now, go and listen religiously to their myspace player and add them, they're v. friendly) introduced them to me, although the pump it up track sounds oh so familiar. here it is with a mstrkrft remix, visit their myspace to check the original, it's worth.
Acid Jacks - Pump It UpAcid Jacks - Awake Since 78 (MSTRKRFT Remix)now that you're a bit hyped up and ready to go shake yr booty (i hope), here's something to soothe you a bit when returning from the disco in the morning, and perhaps, for me, to begin the fight with my presentation (someone kill me please). the track couldn't be better named, it's the B side of the Hands Of A Stranger EP wich came out almost a year ago, but didn't get much press (blog) i reckon. voila j'aime
