By popular demand, here’s the interview, translated. Q: how do you live the transformation from “myspace star” to cultural product for the masses?A: I’m really happy, the cover is pretty, Disco D’s remix is perfect… I’m just glad to finally be able to propose an object, not only virtual stuff. Concretization, it’s called. Q: The EP is only a beginning, what are the next steps in the Yelle takeover?A: Live stuff. With GrandMarnier, we’re working on a set which should be ready by the autumn. I’m really excited. And then, surely, another EP, maybe an album. All this still needs to be decided with my label Source etc. But we’ll try not to be too slow now. Q: How do you create the music with GM, do you write the texts first or does GM make the music beforehand?A: GM produces a lot of stuff, he always has got some crazy tunes. We chose together what fits and we go. Sometimes texts are written in advance, sometimes it’s the melody that defines the rest. Really there’s no rules. Although in the final phase there’s a lot of going back and forth between the voice and the prod. Avec GrandMarnier, on bosse sur un set qui devrait être prêt pour l’automne. J’ai hâte. Et puis sûrement un autre maxi, assez vite, voire un album. Tout ça reste à définir avec Source. On va tenter de ne pas trop traîner désormais. Q: Comment vous créez les morceaux avec GM, tu écris d'abord tes textes puis GM compose?A: GM compose beaucoup, il a des tonnes de trucs mortels. On choisit ensemble ce qui colle le plus et go. Parfois les textes sont écrits à l’avance, parfois c’est la mélodie du chant qui est là avant tout le reste. Il n’y a vraiment pas de règle pour ça. Par contre, en phase finale, il y a toujours un travail de ping pong entre la voix et la prod. Q: Tu envisages de travailler avec d'autres producteurs?A: Des beaux gosses comme DatA ou TEPR proposent aussi des trucs cools. Pour le moment, c’est vraiment avec les prods de GM que je suis la plus à l’aise. GM est plus qu’un producteur, il fait des chansons, pas simplement des prods. Mais ça va venir je pense, la collaboration avec d’autres producteurs. Q: Dans la même veine, tu aimerais inviter qui à chanter avec toi?A: Booba. De toute façon je pense à des clips super imagés, je ne trahirais pas vraiment l’imaginaire de l’auditeur, j’apporterais juste des détails, mais qui changent tout.  Now that's over with, here's my chance to reaffirm that Fluokids is more than a digital billboard. We also like to furnish our readers with some brilliant music every now and again. The first nugget I've got for you isn't incredibly new, and wouldn't be heard at It Came From The Sea, but it still appears to be setting off discerning trendies and incoherent gurners alike, which is quite an achievement. I know this will go down as a bit of a Fluoclassic any how. NB- Not to be confused with Bodyro-CKERS!!! Oh, and this one is 320kbps, so it's a big download! Bodyrox- Yeah Yeah (D Ramirex Mix) (sorry kids, it will be soon in your vinyl shop)There'll be no complaints about the freshness of this next tune. It's unlikely you would have even heard this by now, let alone got your paws on it. There are a few Scissor Sisters remixes going around to accompany their new, decidely underwhelming single, 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin', including the kind of amazing work that we have become accustomed to now from Erol Alkan. His first stabs at remixing, including the likes of 'Rocker' really disappointed me, but he is coming into his own now as a worthy rival to the likes of DFA, Soulwax and Ewan Pearson as a remixer extraordinairre. I don't think it would be right to post his version here and now, and I suggest you go and buy the record when it comes out. I'm posting the Teenage Bad Girl version which is also great and, before you ask, they're not on Ed Banger. Chaque fois je me dis que je vais arrêter ce genre de post mais chaque fois la vie est plus forte, c'est la faute des trains qui deviennent machines à rencontres. Un coup de foudre, je l'ai senti passer comme un verre de t4000/vodka noire de trop. Seize heures, TER Paris - Orléans - Tours, je n'arrivais pas bien à me concentrer sur les graphismes de Bert qui défilaient sur le laptop. J'aimais bien sa veste un peu jogging mais pas trop, son Eastpeak nouvelle série, mais surtout ses yeux verts très purs. Il y avait ce lapin entre elle et moi, un vrai lapin dans sa petite cage de transport, no joke, et j'étais prêt à tolérer ça. Une stylistique du passement de jambes sous la table plus subtile que celle de Zidane, impossible de savoir à quoi s'en tenir, et les regards fugitifs qui vont avec. Zombies de BEE posé sur la table, je l'avais dévoré à son âge et j'avais tellement envie de lui dire de se méfier de l'épisode snuff - le marque-page indiquait qu'elle n'y était pas encore arrivé - et puis n'importe quoi pour engager la conversation. On ne savait plus jusqu'où on donnait le change, chaque sourire ressemblait à une invitation, chaque regard détourné ramenait à des doutes. J'ai entendu mon arrêt, je me suis tourné vers elle, et son sourire crispé et direct et un peu triste m'a fait savoir qu'elle n'était pas dupe et qu'elle aurait bien aimé. A: We are living in stockholm and have our own studio under a garage. We like to make music there and spend quite some time under the ground. Our music could be described as luxurious lo-fi dance pop. Q: how do you explain the current love for the "timeless electro pop" genre you are part of? A: Maybe electronic bands have started to write better songs with better lyrics more than "supersonic electronic" robot kind of themes. Maybe more people can relate to our times electronic pop. Maybe it has matured. Q: what are your inflences and how do you place yourself within the emergent Scandinavian scene? A: Our foundation comes from the amiga-music we made as kids. Since we began with such primitive equipment we don't feel comfortable with more advanced and sophisticated gear, that does a whole deal to our sound. Our influences have varied through the years but we get a lot of inspiration from hanging out at clubs. That may be our favourite setting when it comes to lyrics and we think you could relate a lot to ordinary life. Q: how do you make the music? Who does what in the band, do you always work together or does each one of you comes up in the studio with his own idea? A: Most of the time, we make the music together. August plays the drums and Leo plays the bass or synthesizer and writes the lyrics. Then we "produce" it together. Q: how does a lo fi fnk show go? A: Our shows is not at all about us wanting to show off how good musicians we are. It's more like a dance party to our music. Mostly we get a good response from the audience. Especially in sweden where people know our songs. Q: how did the Kitsuné connection came up ("Change Channel", one of LFF's hits was on the first Kitsuné maison compilation)? A: Kitsuné connection, dunno. They wanted to put some tracks on their compilation i guess. And our faces ended up there aswell. We got the maison cd from them when we saw them playing in sthlm and we went showing it to people "look, that's us!". Q: give us the 5 tracks that youre listening on heavy rotation these days? I was also lucky enough to receive a copy of SebastiAn;s new Ross Ross Ross EP, which is a compilation of pretty much everything of note that the boy wonder has created in the last year or so. I was already familiar with most of the collection, but was surprised to see Mylo’s name on there, assuming he had gone into premature retirement, atop a large pile of cash. Loin de comparer son exhaustif blog à un catalogue de la redoute pour jeunes maniant Illustrator, nous nous sommes posé la question de ses motivations et de pourquoi elle devait être la plus jolie fille du monde sans qu'on le sache jamais. -Bonjour Charlotte, peux tu nous présenter ton parcours jusqu'à aujourd'hui?Aprés deux infructueuses années en droit, j'ai obtenu un DUT en information / communication. Ensuite , et actuellement, je suis en histoire de l'art afin de compléter le DUT (formation pratique) par une formation théorique en art dans le but de m'orienter vers la médiation culturelle, la gestion de l'information, l'évènementiel, et cela donc dans le domaine de l'art (contemporain ou d'avantage classique je ne le sais pas encore ...). -Sur ton blog tu ne fais pas que montrer ton travail perso, tu présentes aussi l'oeuvre d'autres graphistes et designers que tu aimes, des débuts de leçons d'histoire de l'art, un net engouement pour les pandas, qu'est ce que tu aimes et quel est ton regard envers l'art contemporain et le graphisme actuel en général?En fait je ne suis pas illustratrice, je ne suis pas graphiste : je fais ça pour "le plaisir" , avec le peu de compétences que j'ai ... mais je vais tenter d'approfondir certains logiciels et de m'améliorer: je suis frustrée de ne pas parvenir à mettre en image certaines choses que j'ai en tête. Ce qui m'intéresse surtout c'est de montrer des artistes que j'aime ... car c'est purement cela: tous les artistes et travaux que je présente dans Manystuff je les apprécie pour leurs rendus esthétiques, pour la réflexion qu'il y a derrière leur travaux, pour la qualité et la maîtrise de l'outil, pour la nouveauté qu'ils peuvent apporter, pour l'humour que l'on peut déceler ... Je fais pour l'instant avec ce que je sais faire ... mais j'ai envie d'évoluer et pour cela je voudrais pouvoir mieux maîtriser certains outils (logiciels).
